James' eyes opened, and he sat upright, slower than he had on the night he'd fallen out of his bed. His eyes seemed confused, lost in a sea of great discontent. How had it escalated this far…? James pushed the blankets aside and let his feet rest on the floor, one arm reaching out, his hand grasping the closest bedpost. It felt so real… all of it was so real. He felt that pleasure, the pain from Thor's nails and his teeth on his shoulder. James reached for his shoulder, expecting to feel a sharp pain from the sensitive skin, but there was nothing. He pulled up his loose tank to examine his stomach, and not a single line marked him.

What becomes of Black Snow? It was coming close to the end of the year; the Solstice season. The Temple was always busy in those few months; the days got shorter and the nights longer. The citizens of Heaven came to make offerings to the High Priest and the Sun God, and pray he'd come back soon.
